moreは位置的に形容詞用法でも副詞用法でもない。名詞用法として仮定するとyou scale upはthe moreを修飾するだろう。加えて手前のworsenが他動詞になってthe moreが目的語になる。すると「副作用があなたが拡大する追加の物を悪化させる」？よくわからない。
熟語かとも考えたが、ちょっと使い方が違うらしい。

これに合わせるなら「the more you scale up, the more artifacts tend to worsen」になるはず。でも実際の文にthe moreは一つしかない。でも「the more 〜」だけで副詞節になりそうでもある。そうに違いない。

> 拡大するほど劣化する傾向があります
こっちの方がいいかな。
